Dr. Zoe Forward, a native of North Carolina, grew up on the coast. After graduating with honors from Duke University, she received her DVM from The Ohio State University. Although she loved Ohio State, the snow drove her back to the south. She did an externship in exotic animal medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville and the Knoxville Zoo. After a year in private practice in Tennessee, she moved back to North Carolina, where she practiced in Chapel Hill for years before moving to Charlotte.
In the pursuit of cutting-edge, progressive general practice medicine, she studied and received advanced specialization from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in canine/feline practice in 2009.
When not being a veterinarian, you can find her cheering on her kids at baseball or horseback riding, at her laptop writing fiction, or welcoming home her globetrotting conservation ecologist husband. She’s got an ever-changing menagerie of pets at home to keep the family busy.
